KCPQ/KMYQ-TV offers an exciting opportunity to apply classroom theories and concepts to real work situations through our internship program within our News Department. Successful internships require a concentrated effort between the student, their faculty supervisor and the company. In order to provide a highly integrated learning experience we require that there is a commitment between the parties involved.
Requirements are as follows:
* Must be a full-time student (12 or more credit hours) at an accredited college or university with a junior or senior status during the year of application or be in the last year of a two year program.
* Must receive academic credit for participation (internships are non-paid).
* Must be able to intern up to 20 hours per week.
* Must have a minimum GPA requirement of 2.5.
* A faculty advisor and or internship coordinator must sponsor you.
Preference will be given to those students whose declared major is in a communications related field such as television broadcasting, media, journalism, or speech communications. We accept applications, resumes and letters of interest for internships at any time from qualified full time students.
